Bathroom Buckets

I know you've seen these buckets... They were cheap at Thrift Town... and I was looking at them... and the wheels were turning in my head... and I have been so inspired to try a few things... ... ... so I snatched them up. I figured it was a small cost if it didn't turn out well.

This afternoon, I gathered all my stuff together and gave it a try.
And this was the result-
I tried to cut the paper in a nice roundy shape, like if I were covering a lamp shade. Yeah. It didn't really work out that well.

So, I tried again. This time I figured I would just go with strips cut the height that I needed them for the bucket. After a little sanding with 220 grit sand paper, I decoupaged them on with wonderful Modge-Podge, overlapping some at the bottom of the bucket. I think it would have worked better with a smaller random pattern, so the overlap would not be so obvious, but ya know- live and learn. I really wanted these blocks, so I guess it is just fine.
After the bucket was covered, I pressed down all the edges with a finger and modge-podged over the whole thing.
After it dried, this is what I had... A few washcloths rolled up will fill the big one. I'm not sure if the little one will hold floss picks, or what, but it's ready to go.

I'm linking up with this party Kimba's A Soft Place to Land is a pretty busy party. LOTS of good stuff over there!

I'm also linking up with Heather at My Frugal Family for talented Tuesday. I just love a party!
